Usually No. And the reason is if the phone needs to replaced, the centers in India will have no ability to provide an exact replacement. Phones are sold by region. US phones cannot be purchased in India. Apple won't replace a US phone in India because they will NOT have a US phone and they ONLY replace phones with the same exact model purchased.

You can buy your phone in the US. It will NOT have warranty in India. I would NOT recommend adding AppleCare+ to it, which is most assuredly a waste of your money for no benefit to you.

The people at the service centers there aren't obligated to honor the plan and may not be able to replace the iPhone with an unit that's functionally identical to the original. Nobody on these boards can say for certain what will happen, but issues which don't require replacement are more likely to get solved.

The point remains. They may not have USA models in stock; the ones which originate from other countries differ in cellular band support and other functionality, and may be locked to a carrier which doesn't provide service internationally.
