Macbook Pro Apple Silicon - Battery Usage

Hi guys,

I have been using Macbook Pro for the last 8 years or so.

Recently, I got the new MacBook Pro with chip M1. I was curious to understand the best practices for a brand new battery.

My usage is mostly at home so I do not carry my PC around (when you're allowed to go out...).

I have been reading online that it is advisable to keep the Mac connected to the power socket so that the battery does not increase its charging cycles. However, it was a bit old post and the technology may have changed in the meantime.

Can you advise me the best practices to preserve the battery of my brand new MacBook Pro? Would it be good to leave it charging to a power socket all day when I stay home?

Thanks!

Leo

If you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need portability then run on the battery. Following after that general rule use as you see fit.
