Since this morning I'm having problem in scrolling YouTube pages on Safari (it freezes and blocks while I scroll with the trackpad).
Anyone can help me in resolve this?
This problem appeared today, in the previous days I didn't have it.

Apparently there’s some issues with web styling in YouTube, so this lovely person has created a temporary workaround, see image for instructions. Once you’ve installed userscripts Safari extension from the App Store, enter the CSS code in the extension and save the code. Now refresh youtube and it should work perfectly.

All the code is there to copy and paste.
Then literally copy line by line exactly what you see in the screenshots (above and on the webpage, they have actually screen shots of the app), press "save" and then refresh Youtube. Works perfectly :)
Right? My theory is that Google is fudging with YouTube on Safari to get you to use Chrome, as this problem doesn't exist on Chrome. I honestly wouldn't put it past Google, ‘cause Apple and Google have had some really petty fights recently with the PiP YouTube problem. It's like, yeah, I get that you guys are rivals, but can you please put the consumers before your rivalry?
I had the same problem before. I starts after updating Safari to version 14.0.1 and higher on Big Sur and Catalina as well. I am on Catalina now and did a rollback to version 14.0 for Safari. This is my way to solve that.

Me too! I have found that if you expand one comment it helps. Or make sure your cursor is not over the video
YES.... same thing happened exactly. its really annoying. make me switch to chrome
sure YouTube part of google, but man this is so bad when chrome is better

I really hope apple is seeing this or is already in the fix.
YouTube is like one of the biggest website especially during pandemic.
Just an update - for me at least, the issue has apparently been a bug in a third party app called Mos for smooth scrolling. disabling that sorts out the bug for me.
How do you disable the third party app?
I have been doing exactly that. Chrome is heating up my engine and revving up my fan to unimaginable speeds. Hope this gets fixed soon on Safari....
FYI, this is NOT a Big Sur problem. I have the same issue on Mojave 10.14.6 using Safari 14.0.1.
I have the same problem with my 2018 15'' MBP running Big Sur, on YouTube specifically
Mos user here as well. Disabling Mos will correct this issue for the trackpad. Thanks!
