Not able to see retina display resolution 2880x1800 in big sur

Hi,

I have a 15" 2019 MacBook Pro. After the release of macOS Big Sur, I have upgraded to it from Catalina.

After upgrading, I am not able to find full display resolution (2880×1800) which used to be displayed in Catalina. But About this mac does show available resolution of 2880x1800.

Pl find attached resolution in Big Sur. I have selected the highest resolution which is 1920x1200

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Thanks...

Check if you have same issue in safe mode.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

NoteSafe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software as it starts up, including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, and fonts not installed by macOS. It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility. And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed.

You may need to Contact Apple Support, to get it fixed.

As per MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019) - Technical Specifications.

  • 15.4-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit display with IPS technology; 2880-by-1800 native resolution at 220 pixels per inch with support for millions of colors
  • Supported scaled resolutions:
    • 1920 by 1200
    • 1680 by 1050
    • 1280 by 800
    • 1024 by 640

See if, Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac helps: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063.
