My 13-inch MacBook Air (2016) on El Capitan abruptly died after having some cold coffee spilled on it. While a lot of the data was recovered from the hard drive to an external hard drive, Notes seems to be missing and much of my most valued information is stored in Notes and I unfortunately did not save the notes on iCloud. Is there any way I can retrieve them?

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having trouble recovery important information from Notes. We're happy to help. There might be a possibility that without a backup the notes are lost. Did you use Time Machine to back up your Mac?
