iPhone 12 pro Max phone call problems

Phone calls are not received and go right to voicemail and outgoing calls cannot be made. This is all intermittent and the phone calls only work after restarting the phone.

It sounds like your iPhone isn't able to make or receive calls intermittently. Which iOS version are you using with your iPhone? Also, what happens when you try to make a call? Are you seeing any errors or if the app crashes?

Latest iOS. Problem has been happening for three weeks since I received new phone. A few times unable to make calls but often incoming calls go right to voice mail, don’t even ring on phone or paired watch and no record of recent or missed call in Recents. Sometimes turning Airplane Mode on and off fixes problem for a day, sometimes restarting phone does. This continues to happen on and off whether on cellular or wifi calling. Have restored phone to factory and then restored backup and the problem is not as frequent but still keeps happening.

It's a physical sim and have already replaced it and had it activated again by Verizon. Have also spent hours on the phone with them as well as Apple Support Level 2

Thanks for those details. Since getting this new phone, do you have the cellular service set up as eSIM or a physical SIM card? This sounds like it may be related to the phone itself. Have you contacted your cellular carrier to make sure that your account is in good standing?
