Apple TV (1st generation) doesn’t stream anything anymore.
Apple TV (2nd generation) streams select preconfigured channels/web ‘apps’, depending on region.
Apple TV (3rd generation) streams select preconfigured channels/web ‘apps’, and also separately Apple TV app subscription Channels.
Apple TV (4th generation or later) streams from apps from the App Store, and also separately Apple TV app subscription Channels.
