Hi All,
Prior to Big Sur I was able to delete emails without having them open. It now seems the emails open the minute they are highlighted. Is there a way to stop this from happening?
I noticed this function still works in Spam. Not sure what setting I am missing.

You haven't indicated what email program you are using, but I suspect that this can be corrected in the program's preferences.
It works the way you and I both mentioned on messages in my junk folder but not in New Email.
When I right click in new email Delete isn't there. Rather odd.
In Big Sur's Apple Mail, you right-click/two-finger tap on the specific message that you want to remove. Select Delete from the secondary menu, and it is gone without ever opening in the side window.
First place I looked was under preferences but couldn't find it.
