Iphone 12 pro overheating

I have had my iPhone 12 pro for 13 days and it just started overheating last night for the first time. I have used IOS 14 since day one and haven't installed the newest update yet. It happens when unplugged and surfing the web. Is this a hardware or software issue? Is this happening to many other users?
