removing browser hijack malware

My browsers ( Safari, Chrome and Firefox ) are all subject to browser redirection to one or more of yahoo, bing, searchbaron, searchmarquis, passquery. None of the on-line suggestions seem to work and it is difficult to trust the recommendations of any of the providers of reviews and opinions without some assurance that they are real and not just another scam. This discussion community as a subdomain of apple.com ought to at least be curated by knowledgeable moderators to remove the most egregious claims/recommendations for programs (free or paid) that will work reliably or at least not further damage my MacBook Pro (10.13.6).

With all that said, can anyone suggest a trustworthy, reliable removal tool?
