My ipad air 2 screen is unresponsive after falling, no cracks or dents
the screen is not on, but if you hold the home button, it will make a noise. Is this Ipad a lost cause or can it be fixed?

Sorry, but we, just users like you, can't diagnose your problem remotely.
It might be (let's hope) an interruped internal connection (?) after falling, but you need to make an appointment and have your iPad inspected at an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector
After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.

Giulio
