I cannot unmute the microphone on FaceTime on my Mac Air.

The video is working on FaceTime on my MacBook Air, but i cannot unmute the audio. Has anyone been able to fix this issue?

Hello Mariaalberta and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty with audio when making FaceTime calls on your Mac.

As a starting point, you'll want to isolate this to determine if it's just an issue with FaceTime calls or if all inbound audio on the Mac is affected. The easiest way to do that is with these steps.

1) Open the QuickTime Player app

2) Under File choose New Audio recording

3) Next to the Record button there is a small triangle Click that and ensure that Internal Microphone is chosen

4) Click record and make a short recording speaking into the Mac

If you don't hear anything when you try to play the file back, it would indicate that the issue is with the mic.

Cheers.
