Trying to re install El Capitan on a Mac Pro Desktop 3,1 early 2008 model

want to know if I follow the re install procedures will it ERASE all my current applications, personal data?

No, unless a problem occurs.


If you're trying to erase it, you need to separately do that in the Disk Utility.

If you're trying to avoid erasing it, back it up first.
