Gmail calendar invitations are not appearing in my iPhone Calendars app inbox

Prior to upgrading to ios 14.2 when I was sent calendar invitations to my Gmail address, I would receive an inbox notification (bottom right corner of my iPhone calendar app). This was my indication that I'd rec'd a calendar invitation and for me to accept or not.

Since upgrading to ios 14.2, when someone sends me a calendar invitation to my Gmail address, the event does NOT show up on the face of the iPhone calendar app (inbox). I'm living in fear of missing an event. This is driving me crazy.

Please please can someone offer me a solution? I've spend HOURS on the phone w Apple Support and they've got nothing for me. But I bet one of you do. Please help? Thanks!

I am also experiencing this issue. I'm not exactly sure when it started though because I don't always look at my calendar inbox on my iphone. That said, I can confirm that the same functionality works on my Mac calendar app. That is, when I receive an invitation to my gmail account, that invitation will show up in the inbox on my mac calendar app, but not my iphone calendar app.

Also interesting, the replied tab of the inbox on my iphone calendar app is working. Its filled with all the invites I've recently responded to in gmail or the mac calendar client.

Last bit of isolation help, my iphone calendar inbox does receive invites from other calendar accounts I have on my device.

I'm in the same boat, hopefully if I rephrase it will help:

I use Gmail as my default calendar.

On my Mac in the Calendar App, I receive the alert in the Inbox Notification, offering to Decline, Maybe, or Accept

On my iPhone in the Calendar App, it does not display in the inbox that I have received a new invite. However if I go to the calendar, and look for the invite specifically it is there with the option to Decline, Maybe, or Accept.

Apple. This Functionality has been broken since iOS 14. Other devices are operating appropriately. I am one of the many affected users who rely on seeing Calendar Invite Notifications. I look forward to help as well.

I'm in the same/similar boat. I recently purchased the iPhone 12 mini. I think this happened after updating the software on the new phone. I'm using version 14.4.

In the past, new calendar invites sent to my Gmail always automatically appeared on my iPhone calendar with the option to respond: accept, maybe, decline. However, now I see no new events in the iPhone calendar (or in the calendar inbox). This is super frustrating. I use my phone constantly to see what events are coming up for the day and week.

Note that "calendars" is selected and turned on for my Gmail account in my iPhone calendar settings.

We really need this functionality back, Apple! What happened?

Edited to add: Weird thing is, once I accept a calendar invite from my Gmail inbox, then and only then does it appear on my iPhone calendar. The issue is that I am no longer seeing new calendar invites from my Gmail account populate my iPhone calendar and providing me the opportunity to view or accept/decline from the iPhone calendar.

Same boat here. But mine is affecting both calendars I use (outlook and gmail) and also I get issues with my connection to those email clients.

previously any invite I got to either email address would generate a notification on the app home screen where I could accept or decline etc but recently this isn’t the case, instead invites appear as emails and clicking on them take me to the respective website to accept eg gmail. This is a total pain as I have to sign in every time.

also noticed that most of the time my email accounts now have connection problems. I upgraded to an iPhone 12 mini on 14.3 in January and have since installed 14.4 and I’ve had nothing but issues with email and calendars since

I have the same issue. Invites sent to my Gmail or Exchange accounts show up on my Mac Calendar app but not on my iPhone Calendar App. The Calendar sync for all my accounts has been turned on. The accepted events show up in the iPhone Calendar App but the notification to Accept/Reject invites doesn't show up. I fear missing important work invitations. Please help if you have a solution.

Hey there LRSHNL,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having some issues receiving calendar invites. We're happy to provide some assistance.

Does this occur when using another device? This can help isolate the issue.

If this occurs on another device, are you referring to iCloud calendar invites or specifically invites sent from Gmail?

If this is a iCloud calendar invite, try sending through iCloud.com as outlined here:

Invite people to a calendar event on iCloud.com

If this is through Gmail, try sending the calendar invite through the mail provider's website. If the issue occurs through the mail provider's website, we recommend contacting Gmail for assistance.

We hope this helps.

Have a great day!
