MagSafe Clear Case Cracked

I bought a clear case with MagSafe for my 12 Pro Max Safe, 1 week later and its already falling apart. I have seen many reports online about this happening, it seems the damage its coming from the sharps new edges on the iPhone 12. There is this tiny cracks/bubbles on the inside corners and NO I have not dropped my phone at all. Apple should pay attention to this claims and recall these clear cases.

I was on the with apple support for an hour but they really did not know how to help me, also they will always tell you that this is due to accidental damage, but really apple, you should listen because this is all over the internet. Currently waiting on apple to call me back see if they will replace it.

I am on my 4th clear case now, and gonna keep on going until they get the silicon mix right. Afraid the original production numbers was pretty large and it will take a bit of time to get new once out to the stores, especially with the price point they use. It is sad to see Apple not rise to the occasion on such a trivial matter. Normally they give beyond great support for i my experience.

Hello y’all. So I actually called them and stayed on the phone for about 2 hours because none of them knew exactly how to help me. They ended up creating a case and transferred me to a senior specialist I believe. They told me I needed to take it to the store but of course there were no available appointments for like 3 weeks. They finally agreed to to send me a replacement and told me that I needed to go the store if I wanted a refund. He said that most likely they will just assume that it was normal wear and tear and not issue a refund for it.

I recently ordered another case due to my clear case cracking. When I went to the store to pick up my new case, I told the employee the old clear one was junk. The employee informed me there is a year warranty on all apple products and that they had the same issue. They gave me a full refund and exchanged it for my new silicone case.

Well, I just had this same problem. Mine happened RIGHT after I put the case on. And what did Apple say? After he looked at some pictures I had sent he tells me oh it looks like there was impact damage so we can’t replace it. I literally had no words for him because I said it happened out of the blue just after I put the case on and have not dropped it. So me knowing that I 100% did not drop my phone, had little faith in his observation skills for Apple damage and what type of damages they reign from. He was basically saying it was dropped and Apple wouldn’t do anything about it. It took a lot from me not to lose my cool on him because it was a stupid conclusion from his end with clearly no expertise involved.

@kismo88 I did the following and it worked for me.

Request a refund on the apple store for the item. Buy an alternative, the leather and silicone ones are both way better (I have the leather my wife has the white silicone).

Once your new one arrives return the clear one with a letter inside describing what happened. Also take a pic of the bottom of the phone showing the case bending as it probably doesn’t fit properly.

I got an email about a week later saying they where returning the money. About two days later it hit my account. I didn’t bother ringing them. The case is defective there is nothing to talk about.

ive already successfully warned three friends off buying the clear case. It’s awful.

I have exactly the same problem. My daughter reported to me that her case, also the clear Magsafe case sold by Apple for the iPhone 12, is cracking at three of the corners on her case. I checked my case, which is identical, and found the same. There are two long hairline cracks on one of the four corners. As the previous user reported, I have never dropped my phone with this case.

I would avoid this case until Apple decides to recall and replace these cases. The product has weak points between the camera opening and the power button, and the opening on the bottom. If you search, you will find posts on this site as well as others. I just spent an hour with an apple person where they told me they would charge me $99 to replace a $49 case that is supposed to be under warranty. My next option is to send it back, and then they decide if they will charge me.

I have had apple iPhones since they came out, but its actions like this make you wonder what direction they are headed.
