Sidecar on Big Sur: window minimized instead than moved to iPad

Under Big Sur, whenever I choose to "Move [a window] to iPad", the window is minimized within the Mac main screen instead of being moved to the iPad. Selecting the "Move window to iPad" for a second time correctly moves the windows to the iPad. If the iPad is already connected via Sidecar, everything works normally at first attempt.

Under Catalina, choosing "Move [window] to iPad" initiated the connection via Sidecar and moved the window immediately to the iPad. So, it's like there is one more command under Big Sur (first command initiates connection via Sidecar, second command moves the window).

Any suggestion on how to get a behavior similar to the previous one in Catalina would be appreciated.

Thanks to everyone.

Tried with all you suggestions; no change. Tried logging out from iCloud and back in on iPad; no change. Tried connecting to iPad when in safe mode; no change. Tried resetting SMC on the Mac; no change. Please note that I tried this on two separate Macs, and the odd behavior is consistent on both of them.

Noted also that, after activating and then deactivating a Sidecar session, after the Display and Screen Mirroring controls go away from the Menu bar [Display and Screen Mirroring controls on "only when active"], the Display luminosity widget indicator always remains at 100%, although in System Preferences I can see the real luminosity of the screen being, as an example, at 75%, or 60% [if I change with Touch Bar, the widget drops immediately to the correct value]. So, maybe a problem with second display management in Big Sur?

I don't see the behavior you describe (and don't know why you see it). I don't see any settings that would cause the behavior you see, nor should there be. Seems like it is just hanging up and not completing the move on the first try.

Maybe restarting both will help.

You could try booting your Mac into Safe Mode to clear the system caches, then restart normally.

The behavior disappeared with Bug Sur 11.1, and now the window is transferred to the iPad immediately. However, a new "behavior" arose: the iPad is not recognized as connected under the Display widget, and no Display widget appears in the Menu Bar. So in order to disconnect the iPad, it is necessary to first connect it by clicking the icon in the Display widget (it is already connected) and then disconnect it by re-clicking the icon. Many clicks. It was working like charme under Catalina.
