can't select 1440p for external monitor with MacBook Pro 2020

I'm trying to use my Asus VG27WQ 1440p monitor with my brand new MacBook Pro 2020. Frustratingly I can't scale the display in system preferences any greater than 1080p resolution. The hub and cable I am using to connect to the monitor works fine paired with my 4k TV. The monitor, cable, and hub are all 4k rated, so why can't I set the resolution to 1440p in MacOS? The monitor works fine at 1440p when hooked up to all my other devices, just not this new MacBook.

I have tried holding option when selecting scale, but still can't see any options greater than 1920x1080.

HELP! :(

I was unable to find a hub that supported 1440p resolution. Instead I purchased a hub that you can charge with. I use this hub for one port and use a usb-c to DisplayPort wire connected to the monitor for the other. This fixed my resolution issues.
