I have a 11” iPad Pro 2020 that for some reason didn’t work right where I live. It worked ok at work and other places. I finally got a 10.2” 7th generation to replace it. I’m with Verizon, and they swapped the chip with my phone number etc and reset the Pro to factory settings.
So my question is can I give away the Pro instead of letting it rot in the closet? Will they be able to set it up if they have a different carrier or maybe just use it with WiFi?

Erasing the iPad and properly preparing the device for a new user will not remove functionality. Correct preparation actually goes a long way towards ensuring that the iPad can continue to be used by the new owner - without difficulties.
As for Cellular functionality, if the new owner chooses to provision a new SIM with an Airtime contract from a Cellular provider, they will be able to use both Cellular and WiFi networks. If instead they do not intend to use the Cellular capabilities, all other functionality (including GPS) will continue to work as normal.

Yes, I did all that, plus Verizon swapped out the chip that had my phone number and put that chip in my new iPad and the blank one from the new iPad into the Pro, and then reset the Pro to factory settings.
I just wondered if whoever I give it to can set it up with a different phone carrier or will they just have to use it with WiFi.
