2014 Macbook Air black screen

Macbook 2014 won't start up just makes the start up sound. Battery is old, but plugged in. Keyboard light for caps lock will turn green. No luck trying to reboot. Is it just because the battery won't hold a charge any longer?

my macbook air won't start up I have a fully charged mac book air and for some reason it won't turn on. I have tried rebooting it but it's like black screen and it's as if it is fully dead. It's only 2 years old so not sure what the problem is.

Macbook Pro won't start up My MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011) won't turn on. When I press the power button the startup sound begins, but cuts off in the middle. The screen stays black the whole time. I tried to reset the PRAM and SMC but not sure if I did it right because nothing changed. For context, the battery was removed several years ago, but it was working fine (while plugged in to external power) until I tried turning it on a week ago. Any advice is appreciated!
