Can I use the Belkin RockStar 3.5 mm Audio Cable with USB-C Connector for my iPod Shuffle?

I need a new charger cable (3.5mm Jack/Plug to USB-A) for my iPod Shuffle. I have to use an adapter to convert my current USB-A charger cable to my Mac's USB-C port. Apple no longer sells this cord. Can I use the Belkin RockStar 3.5 mm Audio Cable with USB-C Connector from the Apple website for my iPod Shuffle? It would be nice to be able to eliminate the required use of an adapter, but will I be able to transfer music with this cord?

Hi there ericacolburn,

We understand you'd like to purchase a new charger for your iPod shuffle, and we'd like to see if we can assist.

In regard to the Belkin RockStar 3.5 mm Audio Cable with USB-C Connector you mentioned, it would not be compatible for charging:

"Belkin's RockStar 3.5 mm Audio Cable with USB-C Connector lets you play music or other audio from your iPad Pro or other USB-C device through your car stereo, 3.5 mm headphones, or a home speaker system. It delivers sharp, clear, high-quality sound for an elevated listening experience. Does not support charging."

Specifically, these details:

"Obsolete products are those whose sales were discontinued more than 7 years ago. Monster-branded Beats products are considered obsolete regardless of when they were purchased. Apple discontinues all hardware service for obsolete products, with no exceptions. Service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products."

Take care.
