How do I hook my iPad up to my MacBook Air when there are not any USB connections? My iPad has a restore error showing up when I attempt to turn it on.

My iPad has an error message telling me to go to support.apple.com/ipad/restore

The instructions here state to connect iPad to the computer with the cables that the computer came with.....my iPad came with a usb cable.....there are not any usb ports on my MacBook Air. How do I connect this iPad to my computer and get the iPad restored?

No USB ports? If your MacBook is sufficiently recent that is lacks USB Type-A ports, you will certainly have USB-C ports...

If your iPad has a Lightning port, you’ll need a Lightning to USB-C cable:
