Random shutdowns with Big Sur in MacBook Pro (mid 2014)

Hi,

Since upgrading to Big Sur in my MacBookPro (mid 2014), it became impossible to work since the Mac keeps shutting down - no apparent pattern: can happen with any app(s) open or even with no apps open.

Tried almost everything (from the online forums) except restoring from Time Machine - I have a 2 weeks old copy from Catalina. However, in order to see if it was possible to restore if from Time Machine, I've followed all the steps until the System asks to chose the Time Machine backup. When I chose the one with Catalina (a network disk), I get a message that the Mac cannot connect to the disk... So, I’m apparently stuck with no options.

Any help would be very welcome. Thank you,

Regards
