Any luck with your Terminal efforts?

So are you saying that via terminal you could see more files? When I’m in target disk mode and just mount as an external drive I’m hardly seeing any files at all.

Hi can you give me the basic command in terminal to access and remove unnecessary large files from my downloads in order to free space for the upgrade? I am stuck in the 29 min loop

Sounds like a version of Target Disk Mode. Have you tried hooking it up to another Mac and deleting some unnecessary files?

Just wondering if anyone knew just how much space was needed? I’m stuck in the same loop as you all and I have 126GB free. Wondering if deleting files using the terminal would even help me.

126GB should be more than enough. Do you have any partitions on the drive that might cause that storage to be split? Have you verified the available storage in Disk Utility in Recovery mode?

Thank you I have managed to get back to the Terminal but it now won't allow me to type the instructions you gave on page 3 - cd/volumes.

When you say won't allow you to, what exactly is it doing?

When you first open Terminal, it should be ready for you to just start typing.

Be sure to leave a space between "cd" and "/volumes".
