Transfer Macbook Pro to M1 Macbook Pro via USB C

I have a 2018 Macbook Pro and I just bought a new M1 Macbook Pro. I want to use Migration Assistant to migrate everything over as quickly as possible.

These instructions seem straightforward https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204350 but it looks like this is for doing it over Wifi.

I have a USB C to USB C cable. I presume that would be faster and more reliable, but what are the exact steps to do that with Migration Assistant?

Okay, but what option would I select here https://support.apple.com/guide/macbook-pro/transfer-your-data-apda75cd668e/2020/mac/11 ? USB storage device?

Or by connecting the two Macbook Pros together via the USB C cable I'll be presented the option to connect them that way?

A cable connection is far superior to a wireless transfer.

You have complimentary phone support with your new Mac, take advantage of that if in doubt

Connect the two together when it ask for your other Mac.

The most trouble free way to move to a new machine, is using the Setup Assistant on the initial boot— you have one shot here. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205749

If that opportunity has past, the second best way is use the Migration Assistant.
