image keeps moving by itself

When I put an image between texts, it sometimes moves randomly that it affects the whole document and ruins it. When one image moves randomly, it also pushes the things behing it so everything is pushed. This is really frustrating. Does anybody know why this is happening? image system in pages is not good.

All objects (including images) pasted or inserted into a Pages word processing document are initially set to Move with text, and to automatically Wrap text around them.

You can change both settings in the Format Inspector.

Select the object, then click the Format brush to open the Inspector. Click Arrange to view and edit the current settings. Setting the object to Move with text pins it to a specific location in the text. Adding text above that point in the text stream will push the the location and object downward to make room for the new text. Removing text above that point in the text stream will cause the location and the object to move upward to fill the now empty space.

Setting the object to Stay on Page pins it to a specific location relative to the top left corner of the Section, keeping it on the same page regardless of added or removed text above it (or below it).

Text wrap can be set to None (letting text flow behind or in front of the image, Left, Right, Above and Below, or Automatic.

Experiment to learn about the visual effect of each of the settings. One (or more) may fit what you need in your document.

Barry
