Lidar Lens Turns Green On iPhone 12 Pro Max??

I noticed that when looking at the back of my iPhone 12 Pro Max under certain light, that the Lidar lens turns green around the edge or the entire lens depending how I tilt the phone.

Is this normal or a hardware defect?

Does anyone else see this on their iPhone 12 Pro \ Max models?

The Lidar Sensor does change color from pure black if looking at it head on to other colors as it is angled. Mine looks more coppery when angled, but that could be the reflection of items in the room, more than anything else. Like Joseph_S suggests if your photos look normal when you take them, there's likely nothing to be concerned about.

Take a photo to see if it shows properly. If the photo shows properly, you should be fine.

If you're concerned with your hardware, you can always schedule an appointment to have a Genius take a look at it in the store: Contact Apple Support
