When I am viewing an email in a separate window and I click on the "Message" menu, click on "Move to", and select a folder, the message does not move to the selected folder. (It works in the window that has a list of emails in a mailbox.)
I am using a MacBook Air with Big Sur's included Mail app. The mail boxes are hosted by Google Mail.

It sounds like you aren't able to move your email messages using the "Move To" selection in the separate viewing window. Are you able to move the message to your desired folder using drag and drop in the inbox?

Yes, I can do it either way in the window containing a list of messages (such as the inbox). The menu item is not working in the window displaying a single message, such as the window that comes up when I go to the message by clicking on a notification.
