Text notifications IPhone 12

i am writing wondering if anyone has been experiencing issues with receiving text notifications on their iPhone 12? I upgraded from the 11 and been having issues ever since

ios 16.1.1 not allowing text messages alerts After updating my iPhone 12 to iOS 16.1.1 I no longer get notification alerts for my text messages. The text message comes through and the notification shows on screen, but no tone is heard. I have enabled the correct buttons under notifications and the volume is okay. I can manually sound the tone, so it not that. Anyone else having this problem?

iPhone settings There is no "notification announcement" function on my iPhone, nor in siri settings, nor in notification settings, what's the problem? iPhone with US code, Iphone 11, IOS 16.2
