Macbook air 2020 keycap broken repair scam

3 of my keycaps on my mac broke and i went to 1care he started talking about they might need to charge me for the entite topcase instead of just putting 3 new keys on it.

nothing wrong with the mechanism or the rubber thingy ot was the plastic on the keycap that were broken.

they were going to charge me 800 dollars for the entite topcase

Repair keyboard keys under warranty before trading in? I have a couple of worn out keys and the butterfly hinge on the shift key is broken on my MacBook Pro i7 2.6GHz 15" (Mid 2018). Should I have them repaired under warranty before trading it in? Will that reduce the trade-in value if they would be replaced under warranty anyway?
