Switching audio output on iTunes

If I'm trying to switch audio device while listening to music on itunes it doesn't play on the new device.

For example: I'm listening on BT speaker and want to switch to BT headphones itunes won't play the music on the headphones until I close and re-open it.

Other apps are switching between the devices without restart (youtube, ZOOM etc. all work fine with the new audio output).

Sometimes the time bar in itunes will stop running, and sometimes it will continue running but just won't have any audio output (the vol. it turned on and working on other apps).

If it makes any difference I'm using Windows 10 Pro on HP EliteBook

Hi TransformFourier,

We see you're unable to change the audio output on Windows. Make sure to use these steps to Choose which speakers to use in iTunes on PC. Also be sure to Update iTunes on PC. If you need further assistance click here to Get Support.

Cheers!
