New OS problem

After downloading the new OS onto my MacBook Air the fan is constantly running. Does anyone else have this problem?

My fan was constantly kicking in after upgrading to Big Sur, even when I had no apps open, and it was driving me mad. I tried most of the common suggestions out there to no avail.

I saw someone suggest on a blog (can't remember where), that it may be due to Malwarebytes. This app was not coming up on my activity monitor, but after uninstalling by clicking on the app's settings from the dock and then deleting the app, my fan instantly stopped.

It might simply have been a coincidence that the laptop stopped 'indexing', but it's definitely worth trying.

My next step was to downgrade to my previous OS. If the fan starts kicking in endlessly again, I will downgrade.

Hope that helps.
