I can't copy paste a phone number on the keyboard, Seriously.

Not sure what you mean about on hold. Your picture does not show a call in progress. However, I am able to paste a phone number in the dial pad with no issue. Are you SURE the number is actually being copied? Try to copy and paste in an email or text to see.
To the best of my knowledge, that has never been a feature of iOS. However, if the application you're coping from recognizes that it's a phone number (blue underline) you can usually call directly from that app.
Yes....the number is copied. I don't know why....but my cousin also uses 12 pro max. Even in his phone he is unable to copy paste number on dial pad. I can copy paste in different apps but it's just on the dial pad when trying to paste a new number it's not happening.
I can. And I use it regularly. Are you sure you are copying it?
I figured it out....Damnnn....there is a specific place where you have to tap it to get the paste option.....and that window is very small...anyways thank you :)

What exactly happens when you try and copy or paste the number? Make sure you’re following the steps in this link to select the number, then copy and paste:
Select and edit text on iPhone
Also, make sure iOS is up to date:
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the feature isn’t responding as expected, try restarting your iPhone as well:
