I want to have all emails from a specific domain alert me or show up as a "VIP". example - everyone who sends me an email from "@bobspizza" will appear in my VIP.
From what I can find, you can only designate individual contacts as VIP, not globally by domain. See the VIP entry on this page of the User Manual. Flag and filter emails on iPhone - Apple Support
thank you. Are there any tricks to getting this to work? Like create a contact that has their email written a certain way that would capture all emails when it checks for the VIP?
Not that I would know of. If you tried to use a wildcard to try and capture all emails for a domain, the only one it would capture is an email that is *@domain. You would get anything. Are you expecting that many emails from a particular domain? If so, I would go to the web access for the email account and try setting up a rule that would move all email from a certain domain into a separate mailbox instead of the Inbox. You would have to check it often, since it wouldn't use a Notification, since Notifications are for Inbox. Of course, that would defeat the VIP box, they wouldn't go there.
