How can I disable Norton Security "the computer 'x.x.x.x' is attempting to access Google Chrome on your computer. Do you want to allow this connection?"

I just finished updating to macOS Big Sur and every time I go to a new web page on Google Chrome, I get a message from Norton Security asking if I want to permit this connection. This is sooooo frustrating because no matter how many times I allow it, it literally pops up at every single web page I visit. I've never had this happen and it's so infuriating. How can I disable this?

Everyone here on this forum will tell you very clearly that you do not need any antivirus app, that if you install one, it will seriously slow down your computer and that it will often cause other serious problems in your computer. The reason that you don't need it is because Apple's operating system has its own built in protection. Also, if you open Disk Utilities and look at your hard drive, you will see two icons there: Macintosh HD and Macintosh HD-Data. The first is where your OS and all Apple files are stored. It is write only. No outside apps or viruses can be installed there. None. The second icon is where we install our additional apps and keep our files. This is literally the safest operating system ever created. So, if you continue to use Norton, you do unnecessarily and at your own peril. Use the Norton uninstaller to completely all of the app's bits and pieces.
