At this time, there is no second generation of the AirPods Pro. There is only the first generation.


You may have the AirPods (Without the Pro) and that has had two generations.

The most reliable way of finding out if your Airpods are gen 1 or 2 is checking the model number. This is a foolproof way of establishing your Airpods’ authenticity, and it isn’t hard to figure out.

The model number of your Airpods is located on the underside of each case and on each Airpod. It’s a good idea to check each component for the appropriate model number.

Gen 1 Airpods

  • A1523
  • A1722

Gen 2 Airpods

  • A2032
  • A2031
