I have an iMac (macOS Catalina) When I check Preview/NEtwork....I see someone else's iMAC. I'm in an Apartment who provides free-wifi. Should I be concerned? I have nothing checked in the sharing file.

How to hide computer on network in finder sidebar? I'm using a shared network and I'm seeing unknown devices in my finder sidebar under 'locations'. Clicking for info returns nothing. I've read something about bonjour signals, but I'm not sure what that is. What I want to know how to do is prevent my own devices from appearing in other peoples' 'locations' section, or elsewhere. Not just to prevent access to the contents of the devices, which I think turning off all sharing options ensures, but to prevent the visibility of the device there itself. Any solutions? Thanks.

internet sharing is not sharing in Monterey 12.4 Hello, I have MacBook air m1 2020, I updated my computer to Monterey 12.4 today and suddenly the internet sharing is not working any more. By not working i mean that it says that it is activated but in the top bar there is no up arrow (the usual one in the wifi the sign when i used to share) and my phone/other pc can not find any trace of that wifi. I am using an ethernet cable over an adapter to my computer and the internet is working fine in my computer (i am using it rn). What is the solution please? this feature is essential for me

if you connect to a free wifi then you should see all other devices connected on their wifi

if you enable firewall and don't set it to share stuff you should be fine
