HomePod mini not showing in Home App on macbook

I have the latest update on my MacBook (10.15.7). When I launched the home app on my MacBook it is showing all my rooms but the HomePod mini won't show up at all and I only get a blank screen for my room with no icons.

However the HomePod mini is showing on my iPad and iPhone.

I am using the same iCloud id as my iPhone/iPad as I tested adding a new room in the home app and the room showed up on the home app in my MacBook. It's just that HomePod mini is not showing up. I also ensure that the iCloud Keychain is enabled as per one of the apple support document.

Does anyone run into the same issues? Actually this is the only device I have in my home app for now.

Thanks for the help.

I read elsewhere that Apple needs to send out a 'patch' in order for HomePod Mini to fully integrate into Catalina - I'm running on an older MacMini running 10.15.7, and once I turned on WiFi (I was already directly connected on Ethernet), then the HomePod Mini appeared in Sound - but inaccessible (yet my regular HomePod in the bedroom works ?!?). I guess I'll have to wait for the 'patch' else shell out for a new MacMini running on M1 chipset.
