Remote in control center on my iPhone will not connect

On your iphone open Settings- General - Reset- Reset network settings

Check that your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV

Reboot wifi modem

Restart your Apple TV

Set up the Apple TV Remote on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
