Pretty sure UPS stole my iPhone

I ordered an iPhone 12 Pro and it says delivered but isn't there. Normally all packages go to my apartment management office, so I wasn't too worried about having to grab it on time but now I'm scared the delivery guy just threw it in my mailroom (where a LOT of stuff goes missing). Also searched and saw some threads about UPS stealing packages too.

What can I do about this? Can I ask Apple to trace it or something? I know you can trace it if you're logged into your Apple ID/iCloud but it's obviously not logged in since I just bought it... and I don't think Apple puts my iCloud account in for me, do they? Am I SOL?

Hi, this exact same thing just happened to me about an hour ago. The UPS driver told me someone drove up to his truck a couple houses down from mine, gave him my name, and then he gave them my package with my new phone. He apologized and said he "made a mistake" by not asking for ID verification and just relying on someone saying a name. Well, now with UPS their system says that I received the package and my ID was verified because the driver input that into the system. I have been on hold with their claims office for 34 minutes. I filed a police report directly after the incident and a report online with UPS and Verizon and Apple. I am now waiting for them all to get back to me. I do not know what else to do.

I also had UPS steal my phone yesterday. It’s a very frustrating situation because $1000+ is not easy money to lose. I had my package arrived but the box was broken into. I knew my phone was going to arrive yesterday so I was excited and waited almost by the door, as soon as I heard a knock, I opened door got my package and realized the phone was gone. Just an empty box, I hear an out and the UPS driver sped away so fast. And all I can get done UPS and APPLE is that they need investigate.

Funny that happened to me too ....I’m in a high rise building with security who takes the packages . Ups said they delivered with left at door which was suspicious because I’m not in a private home so you can’t leave it at the door . Also checked the security log in book and there is no sign in of ups at that time. I waited 2 months fir this phone and I’m sorry but I believe the ups had something to do with it coming up missing . It ruined my whole day
