hp printer app cant install

HP Smart can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because OS X version 10.12 or later is required. how do i fix this?

You would either need to upgrade your OS or

find an HP app that is compatible with El Capitan.

What printer do you have.

You need an older driver.

Do you have a Time Machine backup to Restore to/from?
