. I have been with apple more than decades. i have never experienced any problems like this with Apple before. I noticed when I was charging my new 12pro max today for the first time, I felt the heat pretty quickly. Is this manufacture problem ? Or ..it really annoys me .

If it is getting hot, are not merely warm, have it checked.

Normal for a battery that is under a heavy load to get warm.

Greetings. Seems as if this has been a troubling issue for past few iphone series. This message is not an answer to your inquiry, however an echo, for I've interacted with many iPhone 11 Pro/Pro Max phones with a similar issue, whether idle or charging.
