MAcBook Pro not doing system update

Hi My MacBook Pro was bought in 2015. It is a little old, but I only use it for leisure and I don't care much for buying latest version.

My only issue is that it keep saying there are no software update to do, yet it runs on OS Yosemite version 10.10.5....which means that safari keeps crashing and iPhoto does not update etc....

Any suggestions to fix this....or do I really need to update my computer?

Thanks

MacBook Pro 15″, OS X 10.10

Exactly. Models from 2014 and 2015 are on the list, so the OP's computer can run Big Sur as I stated, and is not limited to Mojave as you suggest. Just trying to make sure the OP has an accurate response to the question.

In fact, the OP is asking if there is a fix to Safari and Photos crashing, and in that case your reply may actually be better advice! Catalina and Big Sur do not support 32-bit apps, so some of the OP's other apps may stop working if an update beyond Mojave is applied. Regardless, an update is a good idea since Yosemite is no longer supported.
