how to set sound level of timer on iphone se
When I use the timer function on the new SE I can't adjust the volume. I've tried adjusting with the exterior buttons on the phone as well as lowering the volume via sounds.

Just tested this on an iPhone 11 Pro (bear with me, this may solve this for you too).
Before you set your alarm, exit out of any apps you have open that play audio (Music, Podcasts, etc.), return to your Home Screen and turn up your system volume using the volume up and down physical buttons on the side of your phone. You should see a bar at the top of your screen indicating that volume is being raised. Set a timer for 5 seconds and once it expires, that will indicate how loud it is set for.
