Whenever I write a text, send it and then put my iphone 12 down, it automatically starts writing down what I'm saying in a new message. How do I turn this dictation off in messages?

To turn off Dictation, go to Settings>General>Keyboard>Enable Dictation. However, if you have written a text message, unless the dictation is open, where you can see the keyboard disappear and the audio line appear, it should not be receiving dictation. Is it possible that you are tapping the dictation microphone at the bottom right corner of the keyboard when you are setting the phone down? Do you ever use dictation? If not, then turning it off won't be a problem.
