I have the checkboxes enabled in Music. Clicking on any individual checkbox does not visually remove the checkmark, however when you right click, it reports either Uncheck Selection or Check Selection. The checkmark remains no matter if clicked on or not.

Yes, it is a bug in the Big Sur version of Music. It seems to only be a problem in dark mode. If you switch your Mac to light mode (Apple > System Preferences > General > Appearance) the checkboxes behave normally.
Me too has the same problem with dark mode.
Thank you that worked. Hopefully they fix that soon. Not a big fan of light mode.
