Xbox wireless controller pairs to iPad but doesn’t work

I got a new Xbox wireless controller and paired it with an iPadAir2 via Bluetooth. Everything went well with the pairing but the controller keys don’t work. I tried the controller with Minecraft but it’s unresponsive. The Xbox logo lights up signaling that it’s paired. I tried restarting both the IPad and the controller and I disconnected the Bluetooth with ‘

“forget this device”. My iPad is updated with version 14.2. My only the thought is that it’s a firmware issue but I can’t update because I don’t have a Xbox console or a windows computer, only Mac. Anyone have any suggestions.

iPad Air 2, iPadOS 14

Hi IsabellaCamello,

It sounds like you are having trouble using a controller with your iPad. If we have that correct, check out this resource.

Connect a wireless game controller to your Apple device

Let's make sure the controller is a compatible one.

If you are still having issues, the section "If your controller doesn't connect or work as expected" should be helpful.

Let us know if that works.

Cheers.
