Can’t connect Xbox controller model 1708 with iPhone 11 Pro Max
- Yes, I put the controller in pairing mode and went to the bluetooth settings on the iPhone and verified bluetooth was enabled and searching for the device
- I can connect the phone to other bluetooth devices, like speakers, car, headphones; none are connected while trying to connect the Xbox controller
- Works on my iPad Pro
- Tried upgrading iPhone to iOS 14.6
- Tried rebooting iPhone
- Unpaired controller w/ iPad
- Tried multiple times

Update: of course, as soon as I ask the question, it works. I think what I had to do was
- Have both iPhone and iPad next to each other, with bluetooth enabled
- Allow controller to connect to iPad
- Put controller in pairing mode
- Use Bluetooth settings on iPad to disconnect controller
- Controller now shows up on iPhone
