iPad opens without passcode required

We understand you're experiencing an issue with your iPad unlocking without entering the passcode, and we'd like to see if we can assist.

Do you also have Face ID or Touch ID enabled, depending on your model? If so, the iPad may be unlocking through this feature prior to prompting for the passcode: Wake and unlock iPad

If not, restart your iPad, and see if it then prompts for the passcode as expected.

If you do not have Face ID, do you have an iPad with a home button? Do you have Touch ID and is it activated? If so, pressing the home button and leaving your finger there will unlock the iPad.
