how do i reload/download Text Edit which has disappeared?

As Text Edit comes as part of the OS you cannot delete it.

So what do you think you have done.

Have you simply removed it from your Dock.

Open your Applications folder and locate Text Edit,

drag its icon back into the left hand side of the Dock.
