Dolby Vision/Atmos Problem.

Hello everyone.

I bought a new LG Oled TV and have some issues with the Apple TV.

Netflix did not go into action Dolby Vision / Atmos Even YouTube did not go into action HDR.

If I am not in Apple TV these through TV apps (WebOS) it works as expected.

And something else in Apple TV goes into the Apple TV Plus app, the Dolby Vision works as expected but once Dolby Atmos turns on all the audio no matter what app I use, then 2 seconds hear 2 seconds do not hear.

It passes after restarting the Apple TV.

And again I tried to run Apple TV Plus through the TV and not through the Apple TV, everything works fine.

Would appreciate help.

I realized this is happening to other people even though they replaced the hdmi cable or hdmi input but did not understand how to fix so I would be happy if someone would explain to me please.

Maybe this is all a bug at Apple? Or at LG?

Thanks.

Hello refaelbh,

We understand you're trying to use the Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision features on Netflix and YouTube with your Apple TV. You’re in the right place, we’d be glad to assist in seeking a solution.

To begin, we'd recommend double-checking the steps you used to enable and set up these feature on your Apple TV. Use this guide:

Play audio in Dolby Atmos or surround sound on your Apple TV

Afterwards, take a few moments to go through the Netflix steps for the feature on this page: Dolby Atmos on Netflix

This will guide you through what needs to be done for their app.

We hope this helps. Cheers!

refaelbh,

Thanks for those details.

Just to confirm, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos work using the TV app?

When you first set up your TV with the Apple TV, were you prompted to run a to run a short display test for these formats?

"When you first connect your Apple TV 4K to a 4K television capable of HDR10 or Dolby Vision, you may be prompted to run a short display test for these formats. Follow the onscreen instructions to run the test, and confirm that you have a clear picture. If Apple TV 4K is unable to confirm that your television can display Dolby Vision or HDR10, it will automatically revert back to the mode it was previously using.

To confirm which video mode your Apple TV 4K is using, go to Settings > Video and Audio. From here, you can manually select a display format."

Yes in the TV app it works.

I did the display test everything is fine and also like I said if it works smoothly in the TV app then there should be no problem ...

But in no other app does DV get accepted and if I run DA everything is fine until I exit the TV app and then all the audio will be interrupted with pauses of a second or two until I perform a restart.
